Jesus’ words just before the Lord’s Prayer

When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do.
They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! Pray like this:
Jesus, Matt 6:5-9 New Living Translation

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen
Jesus, Matt 6:9-13, King James Version

Unity minister Bill Holton’s version of the Lord’sPrayer

Divine Mind, whose kingdom is within me,
perfect and whole is my true nature.
Because I am the Christ as me,
my will is one with Divine Will.
I am attuned to the omnipresence of Spirit.
I transcend my error consciousness
as I forgive the error consciousness in others.
Because the urge for my Christ Nature to express itself is so great,
I know my Christ Nature is the Truth of me.
In all that I will ever be, do or have,
I will honor my innate divinity and oneness with my God essence.
And so I will strive to be the best Christ I can be.
And so it is.
